Don't regret it later. You need to drink this wine right now.

We've been busy little bees lately, moving the store around and getting sections ready to fill with brand new releases of wine. It's always an exciting time of year, one which is filled with relentless wine tastings and research galore.

Today's delicious red wine from Italy was the product of a meeting with Dave Bove from Vineyard Brands. Some of you may remember Dave from a private wine tasting seminar we held last fall. Dave came back to the Cape to visit us and he busted out a stunning Italian red.

Borgo Scopeto Borgonero 2011 Borgo Scopeto Borgonero 2011 (IGT) (Tuscany, Italy)

Borgo Scopeto is an old and well-established estate producer of Chianti Classico, and it's a true borgo -- a hamlet with its own church, post office, town center and residences. Elisabetta Gnudi owns Borgo Scopeto, along with Altesino, Caparzo and la Doga (woah!), and she and winemaker Simone Giunti are responsible for all aspects of the production of Borgo Scopeto wines.

Borgonero is the name of today's wine and it's a SuperTuscan with great personality and elegance. If you enjoy Italian red wines on the hedonistic side, packed with depth and fruit, then today is your lucky day.

In fact, if you're a fan of Chianti Classico in general you should definitely stop what you're doing right now. Don't regret it later. You need to drink this wine right now.

That's because this wine drinks like a delicious Chianti Classico on steroids. Once again, the press agrees with us, as you'll see below.

We liked this wine so much we purchased it by the case on the spot. For home. Now it's your turn.

"A chewy and rich wine with blueberry and chocolate, hints of walnuts. Full body, soft tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Better in 2016." (James Suckling)

James Suckling: 92 points

"This rich, saturated red, with black cherry and blackberry flavors, offers freshness and pointed tannins for aging. Though rangy, this comes together on the dense finish, where the sweet fruit, tobacco and mineral notes emerge. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Best from 2016 through 2026. 900 cases imported." (Wine Spectator)

Wine Spectator: 91 points

"Pure black cherry flavors meld with raw almond notes in this full bodied but restrained red. Smooth in texture, with refined tannins and hints of savory herbs and grilled meats, it will pair well with grilled lamb chops." (Wine & Spirits Magazine)

Wine & Spirits Magazine: 89 points

$19.99/bottle or $191.90/12 pack case ($15.99/bottle) or just $15.99/bottle in a mixed case of wine.

This wine is a tremendous value for its price, and in fact, it drinks more like a $30-40 bottle of wine.

Amazing.

Get your hands on this one while it lasts.
